Psalm 90.
1.
Ein Gebet Moses, des Mannes Gottes.
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place
in all generations.
2.
Herr Gott, du bist unsere Zuflucht für und für. Ehe denn die Berge
Before the mountains were
worden , und die Erde , und die Welt geschaffen
brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world
worden, bist du, Gott, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit .
, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.
3.
Der du die Menschen lässest sterben , und sprichst: Kommt wieder,
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest , Return ,
Menschenkinder .

4.
Denn tausend Jahre sind vor dir wie der Tag, der gestern
For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday
vergangen ist, und wie eine Nachtwache .

Du lässest sie dahin fahren wie einen Strom, sie sind wie ein

Unser Leben währet siebenzig Jahre ; und wenn es hoch
The days of our years [are] threescore years and ten; and if by reason

Zeige deinen Knechten deine Werke, und deine Ehre ihren
Let thy work appear unto thy servants , and thy glory unto their

Und der Herr, unser Gott, sei uns freundlich, und
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us : and

Psalm 91.
1.
Wer unter dem Schirm des Höchsten sitzt, und
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide

under the shadow of the Almighty .
2.
Der spricht zu dem Herrn: Meine Zuversicht und meine Burg , mein
I will say of the LORD , [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my

3.
Denn er errettet mich vom Strick des Jägers, und von der

Das ist ein köstliches Ding , dem Herrn danken, und

Des Morgens deine Gnade , und des Nachts
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and

Herr, wie sind deine Werke so groß! Deine Gedanken sind so sehr

Ein Thörichter glaubt das nicht, und ein Narr achtet solches
A brutish man knoweth not ; neither doth a fool understand this

Die Gottlosen grünen wie das Gras , und die Uebelthäter
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity
blühen alle, bis sie vertilgt werden
do flourish ; [it is] that they shall be destroyed
immer und ewiglich.

9.
Aber du , Herr, bist der Höchste , und bleibest ewiglich .
But thou, LORD, [art most] high for evermore.
10.
Denn siehe, deine Feinde , Herr, siehe, deine Feinde werden umkommen,
For , lo , thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo , thine enemies shall perish ;
und alle Uebelthäter müssen zerstreut werden.
all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered .
11.
Aber mein Horn wird erhöht werden wie eines Einhorns, und
But my horn shalt thou exalt like [the horn of] an unicorn : I
werde gesalbt mit frischem Oel.
shall be anointed with fresh oil.
12.
Und mein Auge wird seine Lust sehen an meinen Feinden, und mein

ears shall hear [my desire] of the wicked that rise up

Psalm 93.
1.
Der Herr ist König und herrlich geschmückt; der Herr ist
The LORD reigneth , he is clothed with majesty ; the LORD is
geschmückt, und hat ein Reich angefangen, so weit
clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself :
die Welt ist, und zugerichtet, daß es bleiben soll .
the world also is stablished , that it cannot be moved.
2.
Von dem an steht dein Stuhl fest ; du bist
Thy throne [is] established of old: thou [art] from
ewig .
everlasting.
3.
Herr, die Wasserströme erheben sich , die Wasserströme erheben
The floods have lifted up , O LORD, the floods have lifted
ihr Brausen, die Wasserströme heben empor die Wellen.
up their voice ; the floods lift up their waves .
4.
Die Wasserwogen im Meer sind groß, und brausen greulich; der Herr aber
The LORD on high

Dein Wort ist eine rechte Lehre. Heiligkeit ist die Zierde deines

Psalm 94.
1.
Herr Gott, deß die Rache ist , Gott, deß die Rache
O LORD God , to whom vengeance belongeth; O God , to whom vengeance
ist , erscheine .
belongeth, shew thyself.
2.
Erhebe dich , du Richter der Welt ; vergilt den Hoffärtigen,
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud

Herr, wie lange sollen die Gottlosen, wie lange sollen die Gottlosen prahlen?
LORD, how long shall the wicked , how long shall the wicked triumph?

Und so trotziglich reden, und alle

workers of iniquity boast themselves ?

Herr, sie zerschlagen dein Volk , und plagen dein Erbe .

Wittwen und Fremdlinge erwürgen sie, und tödten die
They slay the widow and the stranger , and murder the
Waisen .

7.
Und sagen: Der Herr sieht es nicht, und der Gott
Yet they say , The LORD shall not see , neither shall the God of
Jakobs achtet es nicht.
Jacob regard [it] .
8.
Merket doch, ihr Narren unter dem Volke , und ihr Thoren, wann wollt ihr
Understand , ye brutish among the people: and [ye] fools , when will ye be

Der das Ohr gepflanzt hat, sollte der nicht hören? Der
He that planted the ear , shall he not hear ? he that formed
das Auge gemacht hat, sollte der nicht sehen?
the eye , shall he not see ?
10.
Der die Heiden züchtigt, sollte der nicht strafen? Der
He that chastiseth the heathen , shall not he correct? he that

teacheth man knowledge , [shall not he know]?
11.
Aber der Herr weiß die Gedanken der Menschen, daß sie eitel sind.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man , that they [are] vanity .
12.
Wohl dem , den du , Herr, züchtigest , und lehrst ihn
Blessed [is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him
durch dein Gesetz,
out of thy law ;
13.
Daß er Geduld habe, wenn es übel geht, bis dem
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until

14.
Denn der Herr wird sein Volk nicht verstoßen , noch
For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he

But judgment shall return unto righteousness : and all

Wer steht bei mir wider die Boshaftigen? Wer tritt zu
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers ? [or] who will stand up for
mir wider die Uebelthäter ?
me against the workers of iniquity?
17.
Wo der Herr mir nicht hülfe, so läge meine Seele schier
Unless the LORD [had been] my help , my soul had almost

18.
Ich sprach: Mein Fuß hat gestrauchelt; aber deine Gnade, Herr, hielt
When I said , My foot slippeth ; thy mercy, O LORD, held
mich .

19.
Ich hatte viel Bekümmerniß in meinem Herzen ; aber deine
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy
Tröstungen ergötzten meine Seele.
comforts delight my soul .
20.
Du wirst ja nimmer eins mit dem schädlichen Stuhl
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship

Sie rüsten sich wider die Seele des Gerechten, und
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and

Aber der Herr ist mein Schutz ; mein Gott ist der Hort meiner Zuversicht.
But the LORD is my defence; and my God [is] the rock of my refuge .
23.
Und er wird ihnen ihr Unrecht vergelten, und wird sie
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity , and shall cut them
um ihre Bosheit vertilgen; der Herr, unser Gott, wird sie
off in their own wickedness ; [yea], the LORD our God shall
vertilgen .

Psalm 95.
1.
Kommet herzu, lasset uns dem Herrn frohlocken, und
O come , let us sing unto the LORD : let us make a
jauchzen dem Hort unsers Heils .
joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2.
Lasset uns mit Danken vor sein Angesicht kommen , und
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and
mit Psalmen ihm jauchzen.
make a joyful noise unto him with psalms .
3.
Denn der Herr ist ein großer Gott, und ein großer König über alle Götter.
For the LORD [is] a great God , and a great King above all gods .
4.
Denn in seiner Hand ist , was die Erde bringt, und die

strength of the hills [is] his also .
5.
Denn sein ist das Meer , und er hat es gemacht , und seine Hände

So verstocket euer Herz nicht; wie zu Meriba geschah, wie

Da mich eure Väter versuchten , fühlten und sahen meine Werke,
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work .

Daß ich vierzig Jahre Mühe hatte mit diesem Volk , und
Forty years long was I grieved with [this] generation, and
sprach: Es sind Leute , deren Herz immer den Irrweg will,
said , It [is] a people that do err in their heart ,
und die meine Wege nicht lernen wollen;
and they have not known my ways :
11.
Daß ich schwur in meinem Zorn : Sie sollen nicht zu
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into
meiner Ruhe kommen.

Psalm 96.
1.
Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied; singet dem Herrn alle Welt .
O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD , all the earth.
2.
Singet dem Herrn, und lobet seinen Namen, prediget einen
Sing unto the LORD , bless his name ; shew forth his salvation from
Tag am andern sein Heil.

3.
Erzählet unter den Heiden seine Ehre, unter allen
Declare his glory among the heathen , his wonders among all
Völkern seine Wunder.

4.
Denn der Herr ist groß und hoch zu loben ,
For the LORD [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be
wunderbarlich über alle Götter.
feared above all gods .
5.
Denn alle Götter der Völker sind Götzen; aber der Herr hat den

Es steht herrlich und prächtig vor ihm, und geht gewaltiglich und

Give unto the LORD the glory [due unto] his name : bring an

Betet an den Herrn im heiligen Schmuck ; es fürchte ihn alle

Himmel freue dich, und Erde sei fröhlich; das Meer
Let the heavens rejoice , and let the earth be glad ; let the sea
brause, und was darinnen ist.
roar , and the fulness thereof .
12.
Das Feld sei fröhlich, und alles, was darauf ist; und lasset
Let the field be joyful , and all that [is] therein : then shall
rühmen alle Bäume im Walde
all the trees of the wood rejoice
13.
Vor dem Herrn, denn er kommt , denn er kommt zu richten das Erdreich. Er
Before the LORD : for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth : he
wird den Erdboden richten mit Gerechtigkeit, und die Völker mit seiner

Psalm 97.

Der Herr ist König, deß freue sich das Erdreich , und seien fröhlich die

Wolken und Dunkel ist um ihn her; Gerechtigkeit und Gericht ist

A fire goeth before him , and burneth up his enemies round about.

Berge zerschmelzen wie Wachs vor dem Herrn,

Die ihr den Herrn liebet, hasset das Arge; der Herr bewahrt die
Ye that love the LORD , hate evil: he preserveth the

souls of his saints ; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked

Dem Gerechten muß das Licht immer wieder aufgehen, und

Ihr Gerechten, freuet euch des Herrn , und danket ihm,

Psalm 98.
1.
Ein Psalm. Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied, denn er thut Wunder
A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous
. Er siegt mit seiner Rechten , und mit seinem heiligen Arm

Der Herr läßt sein Heil verkündigen; vor den Völkern läßt er
The LORD hath made known his salvation :

They give drink to every beast of the field : the wild asses

[So is] this great and wide sea, wherein [are] things creeping

Daselbst gehen die Schiffe; da sind Wallfische, die du

Es wartet Alles auf dich, daß du ihnen Speise gebest
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their meat

Wenn du ihnen gibst , so sammeln sie; wenn du deine
[That] thou givest them they gather : thou openest thine
Hand aufthust, so werden sie mit Gut gesättiget.

Verbirgst du dein Angesicht, so erschrecken sie; du nimmst weg
Thou hidest thy face , they are troubled : thou takest away

Er ließ Finsterniß kommen und machte es finster, und sie waren nicht

Halleluja . Danket dem Herrn, denn er ist freundlich, und
Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD ; for [he is] good : for

Wer kann die großen Thaten des Herrn ausreden, und

Unsere Väter in Egypten wollten deine Wunder nicht verstehen
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in
; sie gedachten nicht an deine große Güte , und waren
Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but

Er half ihnen aber um seines Namens willen, daß er
Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake , that he might make

He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them

Und half ihnen von der Hand deß , der sie haßte , und erlösete
And he saved them from the hand of him that hated [them], and redeemed

Und die Wasser ersäuften ihre Widersacher, daß nicht Einer
And the waters covered their enemies : there was not one of them

Aber sie vergaßen bald seiner Werke, sie warteten nicht seines Raths ;

Und verwandelten ihre Ehre in ein Gleichniß eines Ochsen, der Gras

21.
Sie vergaßen Gottes, ihres Heilandes, der so große Dinge in
They forgat God their saviour , which had done great things in

Wondrous works in the land of Ham , [and] terrible things by the

Und sie verachteten das liebe Land; sie glaubten seinem Worte nicht,
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word :

Und murrten in ihren Hütten; sie gehorchten der Stimme des
But murmured in their tents , [and] hearkened not unto the voice of the

Und er hob auf seine Hand wider sie , daß er sie niederschlüge
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them

Und ward ihm gerechnet zur Gerechtigkeit für und für
And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations

32.
Und sie erzürnten ihn am Haderwasser , und sie zerplagten
They angered [him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill

with Moses for their sakes:
33.
Denn sie betrübten ihm sein Herz , daß ihm etliche Worte
Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with

Auch vertilgten sie die Völker nicht, wie sie doch der
They did not destroy the nations , concerning whom the

LORD commanded them:

Sondern sie mengten sich unter die Heiden , und lernten derselben Werke,
But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
36.
Und dienten ihren Götzen, die geriethen ihnen zum Aergerniß .
And they served their idols : which were a snare unto them.
37.
Und sie opferten ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter den Teufeln,
Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils ,
38.
Und vergossen unschuldiges Blut , das Blut ihrer Söhne und ihrer
And shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and of their
Töchter , die sie opferten den Götzen Canaans, daß das Land
daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan : and the land was
mit Blutschulden befleckt ward;
polluted with blood .
39.
Und verunreinigten sich mit ihren Werken, und hurten
Thus were they defiled with their own works , and went a whoring
mit ihrem Thun .
with their own inventions.
40.
Da ergrimmte der Zorn des Herrn über sein Volk ,
Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people,
und gewann einen Greuel an seinem Erbe ,
insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41.
Und gab sie in die Hand der Heiden , daß über sie herrschten, die
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that
ihnen gram waren .
hated them ruled over them.
42.
Und ihre Feinde ängsteten sie , und sie wurden gedemüthigt
Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection
unter deren Hände.
under their hand .
43.
Er errettete sie oftmals; aber sie erzürnten ihn mit ihrem
Many times did he deliver them ; but they provoked [him] with their
Vornehmen, und wurden wenige um ihrer Missethat willen.
counsel , and were brought low for their iniquity .
44.
Und er sah ihre Noth an, da er ihre Klage hörte,
Nevertheless he regarded their affliction , when he heard their cry :
45.
Und gedachte an seinen Bund , mit ihnen gemacht, und reuete
And he remembered for them his covenant , and repented
ihn, nach seiner großen Güte ;
according to the multitude of his mercies.
46.
Und ließ sie zur Barmherzigkeit kommen, vor Allen , die
He made them also to be pitied of all those that
sie gefangen hatten.
carried them captives .
47.
Hilf uns, Herr, unser Gott, und bringe uns zusammen aus den Heiden , daß
Save us , O LORD our God , and gather us from among the heathen, to
wir danken deinem heiligen Namen und rühmen dein Lob .
give thanks unto thy holy name , [and] to triumph in thy praise.
48.
Gelobt sei der Herr, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit ;
Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting:
und alles Volk spreche: Amen, Halleluja .
and let all the people say , Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
